Anne Stenhouse writes:
"My Mum’s Dad was Ernest Stafford born 1885. (In October I think?)
Ernie is on the bottom row THIRD FROM THE LEFT. He was very young.
1888 would tie in, as they moved to Coton Mill in 1889 /1890 and from there went to Ravensthorpe school.
He went on to have a family of six in Ravensthorpe and Mum was the youngest. He worked as a Pump Attendant. Keeping the steam engines going. Sadly, he died before I was born.
There are 3 of his siblings on the photo. He was in the middle of 12 children of William Stafford & Charlotte nee Johnson.
I know Great Grandmother Charlotte Stafford converted to chapel, (Baptist?). I need to find the notes I made.
Generally, the Staffords were C of E and would be in the bmd register. They go back 3 further generations before Ernest, in Hollowell, so pre 1830 would be Guilsborough church it seems".
